Kew Electrical grows to 22 branches
Kew Electrical’s branch portfolio expands this month, with the recent purchase of Ship Elec in Dartford, Kent.
After many years of building Ship-Elec into a successful business, Bryan and Erika Meager sold 100% of the shares in Ship-Elec (Electrical Wholesalers) Ltd to Kew (Electrical Distributors) Ltd, at the end of March.
Geoff Kerly, director and Tim Standing, finance director and company secretary, have now become directors of Ship-Elec (Electrical Wholesalers) Ltd, which will continue to be branded as Ship Elec until June of this year.
The purchase of Ship Elec, and the soon-to-be-opened Shaftesbury branch, will bring Kew’s branch total to 22 branches. Located predominantly across the South East of England, and with one branch in Belfast, Kew Electrical continues to be one of the largest and most successful independent electrical wholesalers in the UK, with sales now approximately £70m.
Kew Electrical and Ship Elec are both members of Fegime (buying group), both sharing the same customer philosophy. Both parties feel this will bring an excellent fit that will further enhance Kew’s award-winning offering to their key customer base made up of small to medium sized contractors.
